Cricket
Nottinghamshire County Cricket Clubs has its headquarters “Trent Bridge” in West Bridgford. The ground hosts one day internationals, 20/20 competitions and test matches.
There are four amateur cricket clubs in West Bridgford, the wonderful Ellerslie Cricket Club, hidden away behind the West Bridgford Lawn Tennis Club at the end of Little Bounds. A welcoming, inclusive club that put it's emphasis on providing coaching for young boys and girls rather than going hell for leather to win the local leagues.
The West Bridgfordonians at Stamford Road on the edge of Edwalton, the West Bridgford Legion C.C. playing at West Park and the Gedling and Sherwood Cricket Club on Regatta Way.

Football
Nottingham Forest's City Ground and the clubs training ground are both in West Bridgford. Nottingham Forest have won the European Cup (forerunner of the Champions League) twice when managed by the remarkable Brian Clough. West Bridgford is home to one of the largest football clubs in Europe the West Bridgford Colts. The Colts have over 70 teams and 1300 registered players providing football training and competative play mainly for children both male and female. The Club now has its own sports ground pavilion and stand at Regatta Way in West Bridgford.
Rowing
There are 3 boat clubs on the West Bridgford bank of the River Trent and the National Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierrepont. There are also canoeing clubs, and dragon boat racing teams. The Nottingham Sailing Club, founded in 1953 is also on the West Bridgford bank of the River Trent ajacent to the National Water Sports Centre.
Rugby
Nottingham Rugby Club moved from Beeston a few years ago and is based at the old Boots Sports Club on the edge of Lady Bay in West Bridgford.
Sailing
Nottingham Sailing Club is on the West Bridgford side of the River Trent adjacent to the National Water Sports Centre.
Tennis
West Bridgford has three tennis clubs, The West Bridgford Lawn Tennis Club, The Lady Bay Tennis Club and the Musters Tennis Club. There are also quality indoor and outdoor courts at David Lloyd.
The public parks tennis is now managed by Activeace providing 3 full size good quality courts and four mini-courts. Social Tennis is organised every Thursday evening from 6pm untill 7.30pm. All abilities are welcome and the session is free. During the winter portable floodlights are provided.
NB as of 30/11/2017 the social tennis is suspended as the lights have been stolen. Replacement lights are eagerly awaited.
Water Sports
In addition to rowing there is canoeing including slalom, white water rafting, skiing and ski-boarding at the Water Sports Centre.
