+i was born in Addis Ababa and grew up in the care of my Grandmother who spoke only Tigrinya. My Dad is a polyglot but spoke mainly Amharic in the home and I was educated in Amharic at school where we also learnt a little Geez (an ancient Ethiopian language). I moved to Egypt when I was eighteen and lived there for eight years becoming fluent in Arabic. in 2001 I fell in love with a monoglot Englishman who became my husband. I moved to West Bridgford in the UK in 2001.
